The partnership will enable TCC to launch new interactive services on in-home TV sets as well as live TV streaming on mobile devices. This is first of its kind and comes as a direct response to the demands of a changing TV-market. The viewers are looking for more entertainment via interactive experiences and new features like viewing on multi-screen and mobile devices. Unlike other regions in the world, the Latin American pay TV-market is booming.
By the use of the independent Zenterio operative system TCC can deploy new interactive services faster and easier. Pay TV in Latin America continues to boom. Half the total number of Latin American households will have pay TV by 2015, with 80.36 million households receiving some kind of service, the second edition of Digital CATV for Latin America, 2005-2015 by Dataxis NexTV reports. According to the forecast there will be 80.36 million subscribers by 2015, which translates to a penetration rate of 50.3% of the region’s households with TV sets.
