TVLS 2016 looked at the future of an industry undergoing an almost unprecedented period of change.
As a long-standing partner of Viaccess-Orca, Zenterio was once again invited to attend Viaccess-Orca’s renowned “TV Leaders Summit”. Zenterio attended in May alongside representatives of other major players in the global TV industry.
The conference aims to provide a forum to discuss the future of television and it certainly did that! There were presentations and debates on the key topics that are currently impacting everyone’s product and service roadmaps. TV seems to be a market that is in a constant state of evolution, or even revolution!
Areas covered included the impact of younger consumers on the uptake of multiscreen services, the introduction of Ultra HD, the prospects for virtual reality, the growing use of the cloud, the need to maintain security across a proliferation of devices, and the opportunities and pitfalls for pay-TV operators who want to take advantage of Big Data.
Of particular interest was the Ampere Analysis look at the economics of launching services in Ultra HD and Liberty Global’s presentation on how to use TV data to generate additional revenue, to reduce costs, and to acquire, grow and retain customers.
The event took place in the beautiful city of Dubrovnik with many fruitful conversations taking place at the evening festivities that included fire, dance and drums!
A huge vote of thanks is due to Viaccess-Orca and also Kate Bulkley and Ampere Analysis for organizing a most productive and memorable event.
