Our deal with Mexican operator Megacable has gained a lot of traction in industry magazines such as Videonet, Digital TV Europe, Tech City News and Telecompaper. Below you can find a few excerpts and links to the articles.
As part of a major transformation project that introduces IPTV alongside cable distribution, Mexico’s largest MSO, Megacable, will deploy the independent Zenterio OS and HTML5 UI framework – JetUI – on both its legacy set-top boxes and on all new set-top boxes. The use of the independent OS means Megacable can harmonize its software environment across different set-top box models. Having the same OS on every box will mean that Megacable will only need one integration for any new service once the migration is complete. In total, Zenterio OS will run on six different STB models initially (three with DOCSIS and three with Ethernet).
Digital TV Europe
Sweden-based TV operating system provider Zenterio has secured a contract from Mexico’s largest cable operator Megacable to enhance its existing TV platform and build new IPTV and OTT applications.
The deal marks a breakthrough for Zentior in the Latin American market. The company’s operating system will run on all new set-top-boxes being deployed and will be used to migrate several different legacy boxes to provide a unified service.
Tech City News
Zenterio, a leading TV technology and services provider, has won a major deal with Megacable, Mexico’s largest multiple-system operator (MSO), to enhance Megacable’s existing TV platform and generate additional revenues from new IPTV and OTT applications.
The deal with Megacable is Zenterio’s first direct deployment with an operator of this magnitude in the LatAm market and it shows the global appeal of an independent operating system as well as the importance of being able to offer a customizable UI that can be adapted to local requirements.
