The history of Zenterio AB

Zenterio was founded in 2002, but the team has worked together for much longer than that.

Back then, The UI Design and Nokia years

The history about Zenterio starts back in the early 1990's when a company named UI Design AB was founded. The focus was on developing user interfaces with high usability, combining the knowledge from a multi disciplinary team of cognitive scientists, business developers and skilled software engineers.

In the late 1990's, more and more of UI Designs consultancy projects were done for the Nokia corporation, involving digital TV products. When Nokia started a new divison for Home Communications in Linköping, UI Design was bought by Nokia and integrated into this division.

The core team of UI Design continued to work together within the software application group at Nokia NHC, and when Nokia was forced to cut-downs in Linköping, the same team founded Zenterio AB in 2002.

Today

Today, Zenterio AB has expanded to approximately 30 employees with skills in software engineering, business developement and user interface design.

The Zenterio team has extensive experience and has developed hardware and software technology since 1994. Since the start in 2002, Zenterio has licensed the ZiDS DVB software stack and successfully completed numerous consulting services to a large number of clients such as Microsoft and Nokia. Today, Zenterios DVB line of products has been launched and there are a number of products on the market using the ZiDS technology.

With long experience in embedded software and user interfaces with restricted input and display capablities, the Zenterio Mobile division team was a natural offspring. Today, the team has completed several projects for major players on the market, and new product and user interface concepts have been patented or are under development.
